YOUNG ARTISTS EXHIBIT

In the Cape Coral Library Art Gallery
From May 19 through June 29, 2022

See beautiful artwork by students from Oasis Middle School on the hallway walls and in all three lighted cases. The 20 winning entries from the Coloring the Earth children's environmental art contest sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library and the Lee County Library System are on the walls of the alcove area.

16th Annual Children’s Environmental Art Contest

The Friends of the Cape Coral Library announced the winners of the 16th Annual Children’s Environmental Art Contest “Coloring the Earth.” The theme for 2022 was save the gopher tortoise, which is in danger from habitat loss.  Here is the list of winners and their artwork.

The current exhibition may be viewed during regular library business hours March 2 through 30. For more information, contact Art Gallery Chairperson Monica Rahman by email to gallery@capefriends.org.  Pen & ink drawings and watercolor paintings by Faith Gaillot are on the gallery walls.  Martha Stevenson’s designs painted on Santorini stone and small paintings on canvas are on display in the three lighted cases.

The gallery will again feature bimonthly exhibitions by local artists and is sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library. The library is located at 921 SW 39th Terrace, and the new exhibition may be viewed during their regular business hours from January 5 through February 27.

Norman Cannon’s photographs will be exhibited on all the walls of the gallery. Tom Higgins’ brightly colored boats made from repurposed wood will be on display in the large case in the gallery. Fused glass by Lois Johnston will be displayed in two of the gallery cases.
