Friends of the Cape Coral Library is a volunteer run organization. We depend on a wide variety of members and helpers to do everything from sort book donations, serve as officers of the board, arrange art gallery displays, host events, move and set-up books for sales, stock the First Dibs shelves, manage finances, and so much more.

Whether you can help a little or a lot, there is a role you can play in supporting our organization. If you are interested in helping, please complete the interest form and we will be in touch.

Transporters
We need volunteers who can come to the library and pick up books to take to our storage unit or Goodwill (there are several locations but one is very close to the storage unit). This would be at least once a week (depending on how many volunteers we have) or could be a solid one or two week commitment a month determined by volunteers’ preference.
Library Transport Coordinator
Schedules volunteers to pick up books from the library and take them to storage or Goodwill. The coordinator would determine what needs to be done based on book donations and find who is available to do it. This job can be done at home.
Sorter/Packer
On site at storage unit to assist in determining if books will go on eBay, or in our book sales. We have two dedicated volunteers who will train you on determining the value of a book. This also involves packing books at storage for the book sales. This would require a once a week commitment.
First Dibs
We need help stocking our shelves for First Dibs (one of our most successful fund raisers!) This is an hour or two commitment at the library once a week or even as a substitute when needed.
Sunshine Fund
This job can be done from home and involves sending cards to our members in times of illness, loss or whatever cheer may be required.
Assistant Treasurer
The Board of Directors has an opening for Assistant Treasurer. The A/T will learn all the duties of Treasurer to serve as backup, assist with banking duties, and ultimately assume the role of Treasurer. Requirements are basic computer skills, experience with spreadsheet software and ability to learn financial reporting software (Quicken). View PDF of duties
Looking ahead we need a Book Sale Volunteer Coordinator to create volunteer schedules for our upcoming book sales.
Whether you’re available and willing to make a small or large commitment we would LOVE to hear from you!
